What is the difference between pre inked Vs. self inking stamps?

Self Inking: This method takes the traditional rubber stamp style and made it automatic. Your personalization die is mounted on the stamp body and for each impression, flips back and forth against an ink pad stored internally in the body of the stamp. Ink pads come with the stamp and can be changed out for other colors or replaced when worn and not inking properly. You may also purchase additional ink for your self inking inking stamp, just ensure that it is made specifically for your self inking model. Self-inking stamps can make about 10,000 impression before needing to be re-inked.

Pre Inked: Rather than using a die for personalization, these models actually flash the personalization into an ink filled vessel within the stamp body. This method allows for ink droplets to seep through the impression area only, creating a very sharp, crisp image. These must be re-inked with liquid ink only of the same color and ink type specific to the manufacturer of the body model. These are the longest lasting stamps with up to 50,000 impressions.
